Perunding ACE Sdn. Bhd. was established in 1997 to meet Malaysia’s demand for technical expertise in Civil and Structural (C&S) engineering services. The principal objective of the firm is to extend its services beyond the norm by providing value engineering in its approach to engineering solutions.

Since 1997, we have gone through many peaks and trough of the building industry and have come out stronger each time. Most of our current staff has been with us for more than 10 years. We have provided our clients with quality service through the years and with the knowledge gained by engaging in numerous projects, we have come to know very well our client’s requirements to maintain a high position in the industry.

Most of our clients who has engaged our services since the beginning are still awarding us with C&S engineering services today because of our quality, proactive and attentive service. To better serve our clients, Perunding ACE Sdn. Bhd. obtained its ISO: 9001 certification on 2010 and has been continually improving.

The firm aspires to achieve the most practical and economical engineering solutions and at the same time strive for the highest professional standards in all its projects. The firm provides its fullest co-operation to other project consultants in the best interest of the client to make the project a success.

Perunding ACE Sdn. Bhd. has provided consultancy services to reputable developers in Malaysia with total construction costs exceeding RM6 billion. Projects undertaken by the firm includes amongst others, prestigious residential and commercial towers, medical centres, hotels, universities, shopping malls and infrastructure projects.

Ir. Chang Cheng Wah graduated from the University Of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK in the year 1980. He started his career as a graduate engineer at Arup Jururunding Sdn. Bhd. (formerly Ove Arup & Partners) and had achieve his Professional Engineer status in 1986.

In 1989, Ir Chang Cheng Wah was offered to take up a partnership position at a multi-disciplinary consultancy firm, Zainuddin Radzi & Rakan Rakan. He was the partner-in charge of the Civil & Structural department and was tasked to revamp the department to a formidable force to be reckon with within the same industry.

In 1995 Zainuddin Radzi & Rakan Rakan teamed up with Parsons Brinkerhoff International Inc to form Zainuddin Parsons Brinkerhoff (M) Sdn. Bhd. (then known as ZPB). Ir. Chang Cheng Wah was then appointed as the Vice President and head the Civil & Structural Department of ZPB and he served through the 30 months contract period.

Ir Chang Cheng Wah and Ir Johnny Tan Wee Khong establish the consulting firm, Perunding ACE Sdn. Bhd. in 1997 and have since assumed the post of Managing Director.

Perunding ACE Sdn. Bhd. have been commissioned to provide professional Civil & Structural consultancy services for numerous prestigious projects in Kuala Lumpur. More importantly, many of these projects are from repeated clients who were overwhelmingly satisfied with ACE’s performance in delivering timely, attentive and optimum designs.

Ir. Chang Cheng Wah is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia and a Member of The Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia. He also sit on the Board of Pintaras Jaya Bhd. (PJB) as Independent Non-Executive Director. PJB is an established public listed piling construction company in Malaysia. Ir. Chang Cheng Wah has extensive experience in foundation designs and construction in some of the most difficult ground conditions in the Klang Valley.

Ir. Johnny Tan Wee Khong graduated from the University of Windsor in Canada in 1984. Upon his return to Malaysia in 1984 he secured a job with a Japanese contractor known as Takenaka Construction Ltd. as a Site Engineer. He was responsible for the supervision of the construction of the Pan Pacific Hotel at Putra World Trade Centre in KL.

In 1984, Ir. Johnny Tan was then selected by Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS in short and formerly known as Drainage and Irrigation Department) to undertake the mandatory government service required of engineering graduates from 1984 to 1988. During his time with JPS, he was involved with the Sg. Skudai river improvement works in Johor Baru, Kangar Flood Mitigation Scheme in Kangar, Perlis and the Sg. Golok irrigation scheme in Kelantan.

From 1988 to 1990, Ir Johnny Tan was engaged in the engineering consulting firm named Citiconsult as a Senior Engineer and was involved in numerous projects, some of which were Country Heights development in Kajang and the Subang Hi-Tech Industrial Park in Subang Jaya.

Ir. Johnny Tan joined Zainuddin Radzi & Rakan-Rakan (ZRR) from 1980 to 1997 as a Senior Engineer. In 1995 Ir. Johnny Tan was promoted to Associate in ZPB when Zainuddin Radzi teamed up with Parsons Brinckerhoff International Inc to form Zainuddin Parsons Brinckerhoff (M) Sdn. Bhd.. During his years with ZRR and then ZPB, he was involved in mainly housing schemes such as Bandar Baru Selayang, Taman Samudra in Batu Caves and Taman TAR in Ampang, KL.

In 1997, Ir. Johnny Tan left ZPB to form Perunding ACE Sdn. Bhd. with Ir. Chang Cheng Wah and assumes the post of Executive Director.
